OUR STORY

Wharfedale Soaps started on a rainy day back in 2018. It was the summer holidays and to keep her children entertained Rachael decided to make bath bombs with them.  From bath bombs it was a natural progression to start creating soap.

Rachael decided to research soapmaking and was shocked to find the number of toxins and chemicals that we used in high-street bought soap. From her own experience she knew that many of the ingredients were not needed and harmful to our skin.

Rachael wanted to create an alternative soap – ones without toxins and would be kinder to skin.

Wharfedale Soaps now makes soaps and moisturiser bars that can be bought across the UK and regularly host soapmaking workshops in the local area.

OUR SOAPS

Wharfedale Soaps are made with the finest quality oils and butters. They are scented with essential oils and coloured with botanicals and clays. All soaps are free from artificial preservatives, colourants, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and Palm Oil.

We are conscious about our impact to the environment. Our soaps come with no plastic wrapping and the gift boxes are fully recyclable. Our moisturiser bars are wrapped in beeswax wraps which can be reused and composted when they reach the end of their useful life.

ABOUT RACHAEL

Rachael is a mum of 3 children and a qualified science teacher. It is her love of science that made her start Wharfedale Soap as an alternative to the high-street sold soaps. She aims to help her customers understand that natural ingredients can have the same cleaning effect as the chemicals and toxins.
